Florida (and beyond) No Kids Allowed Days 7-8

Our No Kids Allowed vacation was coming to an end.  We had one more day and then Jodi and Wade would need to fly back to Iowa and we would need to fly back to Idaho. We are members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, so we decided to spend our last day at the Ft Lauderdale temple.  What a great experience!!

We spent some time on the beach and eating ice cream

And had fun writing in the sand.  Within 6 months we had carved a heart in the sands of the Pacific Ocean and now the Atlantic Ocean.

It was sad to have our vacation in Florida come to an end, but we still had a bit more adventure on the way home.  Our flight home took us through Las Vegas.  We noticed that Barry Manilow had a concert.  So we changed our plans and stayed in Vegas.  We had awesome burgers on the Strip.

We had bought tickets way at the back, but at the door, they upgraded us to fill some lower level seats…can you say awesome!!  We were given a goody bag with 3-D glasses to watch a video during the concert as well as glow sticks.

Barry Manilow was really popular when we were in junior high but we still knew all of his songs.

And to top the evening, it was his birthday the next day, so there was cake and singing

A great way to end a vacation….

Things to remember

  1.  Not every vacation has to be completely planned out
  2. Sometimes it is okay to leave the kids at home and just enjoy the adults
  3. Don’t be afraid to try and experience new things
  4. Always, always, always Build A Memory

This was a vacation that we were really too busy to go on, but we did any way.  We laughed, smiled, ate, experienced, and made memories that will last a lifetime.
